This winter has been great for ski resorts in Pennsylvania. The weather turned cold the last week of November and has been mainly cold or even super cold since then. Our area is blessed to have a not-so-hidden resort right in our backyard. Blue Mountain Resort, located in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, has so much to offer skiers and snowboarders.

  • The highest vertical drop of any ski resort in PA, with a 1,087-foot rise from base to summit.
  • 40 unique trails: There are 14 easy green trails, 4 more difficult blue trails, 12 hard black diamonds, and 3 double black diamonds! The black diamonds are the most difficult, as they are narrow, steep, and many times ungroomed.
  • 7 freestyle terrain areas, all labeled from easiest to most difficult on their mountain map.
  • Blue Mountain also has the largest tubing park in the United States. Snow Tubing Park consists of 46 tubing lanes that extend over 1,000 feet, making them the longest in the state.
  • 16 ski lifts, featuring quads, doubles, triples, and an incredibly high-speed six-pack.

Once you have worked up an appetite, plenty of food options are available in the Summit, Valley, and Adventure Center Lodges. The Slopeside Grill has a wide variety of food selections and every table is a window seat with views of the incredible mountains. Other options include the Summit Lodge Courtyard (wood-fired pizzas), the Last Run Lounge, Beers & Buns Burma, Waffle Hut, Tipsy Taco (enjoy tacos with a margarita), Trails End (cocktails and curated beers), 3 cafes, coffee shops, and more!
