Lansdale is a thriving community in the heart of the North Penn Valley in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Much of the prosperity is due to its great location, merely 25 miles southeast of Allentown, and only 28 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Lansdale is also located just off the busy I-476 Pennsylvania Turnpike and had a population of almost 19,000 residents as of the latest census. A little-known fact about Lansdale is that it was originally called “The Mud Hole”, as the area was a mix of fields and woods with clay-rich soil, making it unsuitable for growing crops. One well–known about Lansdale is it that is home to the famous Kugel Ball, a 2,200–pound gray granite sphere supported by a very thin film of water pumped from beneath its base. Kugel means “ball” in German, and the ball arrived from Germany in 1999. The Kugel Ball is the central meeting place for Lansdale, as it is located at the Railroad Plaza Park in the heart of downtown Lansdale. The water surrounding the ball is drained in the winter, and the ball is encased to protect it from the elements. Residents look forward to spring time each year, with the return of its rhythmic flow of water to the Kugel Ball and the apparent ability to defy gravity.

The Stove & Tap is a 2-story corner restaurant that offers both street dining and a 2nd-floor patio. The Lansdale Tavern is an old–school setting that offers street dining, as well as outdoor seating under a large canape. The Proch is beautiful inside and out, and has a fireplace inside, along with outdoor seating. The Smokehouse Tavern also has indoor and outdoor seating, and has 9 different selections of wings! There are also 2 delicious restaurants for lovers of Italian food, both well–known throughout the area: II Boscaiolo Italiano Ristorante and the Ristorante Toscano – which is an incredibly unique–looking restaurant to sit and enjoy a great meal!
